I would like to share with our readers and friends an awesome set of tools and utilities for Windows users developed by NirSoft. Many people have found NirSoft to be useful over the years, and I am one of them. NirSoft has put together quite the Swiss army tool-set of applications, and so without further ado, I will detail a few of my favorites here.

DESCRIPTION
FileTypesMan is an alternative to the 'File Types' tab in the 'Folder Options' of Windows. It displays the list of all file extensions and types registered on your computer. For each file type, the following information is displayed: Type Name, Description, MIME Type, Perceived Type, Flags, Browser Flags, and more.
FileTypesMan also allows you to easily edit the properties and flags of each file type, as well as allowing you to add, edit, and remove actions in a file type.
DESCRIPTION
AdvancedRun is a simple tool for Windows that allows you to run a program with different settings that you indicate before launching it, including - low or high priority, start directory, main window state (Minimized/Maximized), run the program with different user or permissions, Operating system compatibility settings, and environment variables as well as running the application as the TrustedInstaller account, giving you the highest permission level possible. You can also save the desired settings into a configuration file and then run the program automatically from command-line with your desired settings.
CONCLUSION
So, that is just a few mentions of the many wonderful and useful utilities available on the official NirSoft website. The site has 64 bit and 32 bit versions available for download, and many of the utilities, if not all, support much older versions of Windows on up to the newest rollout of Windows 10, the 2004 update. The site is well organized and the dev allows you to download all of his tools in a single zip file for your convenience. The dev also offers a handy launcher, appropriately named NirLauncher, from which you may launch all of the dev's applications, as well as tools from various other developers, such as Microsoft's Sysinternals and Joeware's free tools.
